You're With Stupid Now: free download of the week

This week's free download song is a cover of You're With Stupid Now by Aimee Mann.

I've been a fan of Aimee for a number of years and recently rediscovered this song from her second album through Spotify. I like its simplicity, harmonies and the lyrics, particularly the Margaret Thatcher line!

Download it for free from or iTunes.

Echobelly! James and the Giant play support this Saturday at The Box

This Saturday, 11 July, James and the Giant will be supporting Echobelly on the acoustic tour at The Box, Pedley Street Crewe, along with Silvertone Prophet Deluxe and Cutout Dreamers.

Doors are at 8pm and we'll be on stage at around 8.30pm. Echobelly will take to the stage at around 10pm.

Info from Wikipedia:

Echobelly were a prominent Britpop band and a force in the British musical invasion of the 1990s.

They burst onto the scene in 1994 with their acclaimed Everyone's Got One album. Although often compared to Blondie and obviously influenced by Morrissey, who himself is a big fan of the group, Echobelly carved out their own unique place with tuneful melodies that cascaded between exuberant optimism and vehement attacks against oppression, bigotry, and alienation in the modern world.

Tickets cost £7 and you can buy them using the PayPal button below, or going straight to the PayPal order page. You can select multiple tickets at the shopping cart page.

Song of the week: I'm With You

This week's free download song is I'm With You, a haunting song with raw, effected vocals and minimalist guitar.

It is quite an old song, probably written somewhere around the mid nineties.

Download it free for a limited time from or iTunes.
