New album Octagon now available!

My new album Octagon is now available as a limited edition release exclusive to this website and live shows. The CD is packaged in eco-friendly Jakebox packaging, made with recycled card, printed using vegetable based inks and holding the CD in place using a revolutionary 'claw'.



The album was recorded between November 2007 and April 2008 at The Loft, Liverpool; Orchard Studios, Cheshire; and The Motor Museum, Liverpool. It was produced by Nigel Stonier and features vocals from top 40 singer/songwriter Thea Gilmore.

Half price tickets for Octagon '08 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

A limited number of tickets for my Octagon '08 show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe are being made available for half price, making the tickets just £4 each.

These tickets can be bought each day, while the allocation lasts, from the Half Price Hut near Waverley Station. The tickets can only be bought for that day's performance.

The Acoustic Music Centre @ St Bride's venue is also offering half price tickets - please call their box office on 0131 346 1405 for more details and to book.

Everyone attending the show will also receive a free 4 track sampler CD of the new album Octagon (while stocks last).

Octagon '08 takes place every day until 24 August (except 16 or 23) at 5pm (11pm on Sunday 17). Regular ticket price £8 (£6 concessions) available from www.edfringe.com.

Today was Fringe Sunday, a gathering of around 100 Fringe acts performing in The Meadows in Edinburgh. It was a free event with around 200,000 people expected to attend. I performed on the Main Stage, which was the big outdoor stage. It felt like a real festival with mud everywhere, very authentic!

Fringe Sunday, ticket offers, set lists

Today (10 August) is Fringe Sunday at The Meadows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I will be performing on the main stage at 1pm so if you're in the area, come down and watch. It's a free event!

I had a great performance of my show Octagon '08 last night so thanks to everyone who was there. I'm playing the Back Room at the Acoustic Music Centre @ St Bride's pretty much every day until 24 August. Tickets are available from the Fringe Box Office at www.edfringe.com. There will be a limited number of half price tickets made available everyday from the Half Price Hut by Waverley Steps, for sale on the day of performance only. If you buy tickets direct from the Acoustic Music Centre box office by calling 0131 346 1405 or popping in to 10 Orwell Terrace, you can take advantage of their buy one get one half price offer.

Carlton Hotel taster

I'm going to be performing in a Fringe taster show this evening after my full evening show.

The taster is at the Carlton Hotel from 12.15am until around 3am. I'll be getting there as soon as I can after my show, around 1am.

Half Price Hut

concessions)

The hut sells half price tickets for a selection of shows on the date
of the performance only. There is a limited number of tickets
available at half price and can only be bought at this price from the
hut.

High Street performance

I'm doing some performances on the Lower Stage on the High Street while I'm up at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and did my first performance there yesterday.

There's no amplification allowed on the High Street so it felt like a real busker experience! The songs I performed were:

I put some posters up on the High Street for the Octagon '08 show. There are several special pillars in place during the festival for the various shows to promote on, and it tends to be a bit of a free for all with posters getting covered over pretty quickly. I was quite impressed to find that most of mine were still on show several hours later :-)

First Edinburgh performance

I did my first Edinburgh performance yesterday, a taster show at the SmartCity Cafe. Great venue and I was on with some really good acts, particularly Adrianna who is also performing at the Acoustic Music Centre. Check her out at www.adriana-music.com. I'm going to be playing there again on Thursday 7th. The show starts at 5 and I'll be on somewhere around 5.30.

Smart City Hostels

The empty stage at SmartCity Cafe in Edinburgh for their first taster gig and my first performance at the Fringe.

I'm finally up in Edinburgh for the Festival Fringe!

I've been doing a little wandering around and the photo shows the High Street along with the Lower Stage where I'll be doing several taster performances, the first of which is tomorrow (Monday 4 August). I've listed the full dates and times below.

I'm also doing taster gigs at SmartCityHostels on Cowgate in Edinburgh, just opposite Baby Belly and not far from the Lower Stage on the High Street. My first spot there is at 5pm this evening (3 August) and I'll also be on at 5.34 on Thursday 8 August. Free entry!

My main Octagon '08 show starts tomorrow night at the Acoustic Music Centre @ St Bride's.
